I don't write a lot of journals, and I won't start now. I'll probably leave this one up for a while, and if you do end up reading this, I hope these thoughts can inspire a new habit.
When you like a piece of art, any art - do yourself and the artist a favour, and say what you like about it, spark conversation, not just a word here and there. What you say is up to you, whether it's something about the picture that personally connects to you, why you think the colors or composition works well, even criticism is fine.
Most importantly, let the artist know how much they inspired you. Because for any artist, knowing they have created something that has affected someone else in a meaningful way is priceless. For any artist.
That's what builds community, not likes and favorites.
